Constantly getting the WiFi icon?

There are a number of things that can contribute to poor performance. Read the Troubleshooting: game and device performance to diagnose some issues. If you are repeatedly getting the WiFi icon, you can perform a more technical diagnostic “PING” test.

A ping utility is used to test the reachability of a host (like the SA Game server). It measures the round-trip time for data sent from the originating host to a destination device that are then echoed back to the source.

The ping name comes from active sonar terminology, that sends a pulse of sound and listens for the echo, to detect objects under water.

Simply put, a ping calculates the speed or delay of game data transferred between your device and the Sniper Arena servers. The longer the transfer takes (higher number) the slower the game responsiveness (lag).

How to measure the ping speed

STEP 01: First, you need an app for that…

For Android users SA recommends: Terminal Emulator for Android
For Apple iOS users SA recommends: Ping – network utility

STEP 02: Measure your ping…

Enter the host in the command line…
For the EE/EW server, use the host: For the AM server use the host:

STEP 03: Review the results

For comfortable game ping should be less than 100. If you are getting higher ping, please consider improving your internet connection or trying to play on another server.
